Project My Sporting Heritage

Objectives:
The My Sporting Heritage project aims to identify, preserve, and promote European sporting heritage. By doing so, the project seeks to strengthen a sense of belonging to the European Union through heritage, physical practices, and the values of sport.

Background and Motivation:
Despite a rich European sporting heritage recognized by experts in the field of sport and culture, the general public remains largely unaware of its significance. The My Sporting Heritage project addresses this gap by providing educational tools that explore European sporting culture through the lens of heritage, especially targeting young people.

Planned Project Outcomes:
Through several workshops, online conferences, and printed publications, the project will take stock of Europe's sporting heritage and make research accessible to a wider audience. Key outcomes include the creation of digital educational tools related to physical activities for young people, a virtual exhibition highlighting the common heritage of European member states, and a digital educational kit featuring games available for free download in multiple languages. These resources aim to celebrate and promote Europe’s sporting heritage.
