Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

We ask attendees to pay €1 on the day to cover the costs of any materials, and to buy a coffee for our French speakers who are giving their time freely to help us.

What if I can't attend every week?

The Quil'Langue principle is that we are meeting to learn French language skills in a relaxed setting : yes, we want to learn, but it's not a course and you're welcome to come whenever you can!

What level do I have to be to come along?

The Debutant workshops are specifically offered to help Introductory (A1) learners providing content to help all of us to progress in our use of French! The workshops will focus on phrases for everyday situations, pronunciation, building sentences and listening exercises.

I'm really nervous about speaking French!

There's a lot of us who are nervous! It's natural! We try to stick to smaller groups at each event, so we hope it doesn't feel like a scary exercise in front of a big group.

Is it just for English people?

Most of our attendees will be anglophones of various nationalities, and the event administration will be in English, but anyone who wants to improve their French language skills is welcome.

How will I know if what I'm saying is correct?

Rosine will be leading our workshops. She has studied French at university and is a wonderfully supportive person who understands the difficulties of learning a new language and loves being able to help learners progress with their skills.
