Bicycle talk ... is there more to it than meets the eye?
By James - author, artist and more !

This presentation explores the bicycle as a multifaceted phenomenon, moving beyond its initial perception as merely a mechanical object. By taking a closer look at this widely used mode of transportation, we examine its deeper significance: what meaning it holds, for whom, in what ways, and to what extent. The talk is designed as an interactive exercise, encouraging audience participation through a series of questions and video clips showcasing the challenges cyclists often face.

Understanding binary: the language of computers
By Etienne, expert in software engineering, autonomous driving, cryptology... and also monkey enthusiast !

Beep boop ! Are you wondering how do computers talk to each other ? Etienne will tell us about the languages computers use to communicate with one another, how it relates to how they store information, and how it can relate to human language.

Dark matter: mirage or reality?
- by Jonathan maître de conférence at the Observatory

The current standard model of cosmology assumes that most of the matter in the universe is made up of dark matter, and that this dark matter is fundamentally different from the visible matter that makes up us, as well as planets and stars. This dark matter would notably explain the rotation of galaxies and the appearance of the cosmic microwave background, the oldest light that reaches us from the confines of the universe. But does this dark matter really exist? Or is it a mirage that hides the limits of our understanding? I will briefly revisit the history of the concept of dark matter, describe how it fits into the current standard model of cosmology, and also present the questions that remain, the limits of the model, and some alternative theories.
