Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

We ask attendees to pay €2 on the day to cover the costs of any materials, and €5 to cover the costs of Rosine's time in preparation, teaching and follow-up. You can also buy a café, thé or cold drink to support the work of Quil'Langue!

What if I can't attend every week?

The Quil'Langue principle is that we are meeting to learn French language skills in a relaxed setting : yes, we want to learn, and yes, you will make most progress if you are able to commit to each session and build your skills, but we also know it's not always possible, so come when you can!

What level do I have to be to come along?

The Level 2 workshops are specifically offered to help Introductory (A1) learners providing content to build on the skills you learned in Level 1 (Sep-Dec 2024). The workshops will focus on building sentences and listening exercises, plus pronunciation and of course a bit of grammar!

I'm really nervous about speaking French!

There's a lot of us who are nervous! It's natural! The classes are limited to 8 participants to ensure it doesn't feel too scary and to make sure that everyone has a chance to practice and get their questions answered.

Is it just for English people?

Most of our attendees will be anglophones of various nationalities, and the event administration and teaching will be in English. If you speak good English and want to improve your French language skills you will bewelc ome!

How will I know if what I'm saying is correct?

Rosine will be leading our workshops. She has studied French at university and is a wonderfully supportive person who understands the difficulties of learning a new language and loves being able to help learners progress with their skills.
